About this blog
I’ve “maintained” this blog for ~20 years, on-and-off. It went from being a stream-of-consciousness sharing of thoughts and feelings from my University days to being notes shared while I was building small personal tools, tweaking workflows, or contributing to FOSS and reflections through this.
I’m currently trying to post weekly-ish updates of happenings from my life to bring a touch of personal life back to it.
About me
I currently work on OCaml and its core ecosystem tooling at Tarides. I’ve programmed a lot in Python and Emacs Lisp before that. I enjoy building small tools for myself more than almost anything else. With LLMs and agents around, I’m trying to work out how to balance the opportunity to delegate and build everything I can think of against the actual joy of building things myself, slowly and carefully.
I’ve contributed to and mentored Google Summer of Code for Zulip since 2018, and I’m now on the advisory board of the Zulip Foundation. I did a batch at Recurse Center in summer 2014 (back when it was still called Hacker School), and wrote updates almost every day. I play Ultimate Frisbee competitively.
