    Clear winter skies

    Clear winter skies

We had a couple of quite rainy days in Delhi in the middle of the week. And thanks to that, we had some clear skies and pleasant weather, even if it’s going to last only a few more days since Diwali is round the corner. Surprise, surprise, it was already pretty bad by Sat/Sun.

  • Movies & More

We watched Sumukhi Suresh’s stand-up special Hoemonal (2026). She has some great observations in this set, and her use of her body and actions to animate the scene are so memorable.

I watched Dorothy (2026) after a recommendation from Ringo. It pokes at some deep questions around gender, masculinity and violence that our species subjects each other to, intentionally or not. While doing so, it comes with a generous dose of violence like you’d expect from a contemporary Tamil movie. Here’s a summary with no spoilers, by Ringo:

violence, love, friendship, violence, caste hate, violence, love, gender hate, violence, love, friendship, violence, woman, love love, violence, breakdown, revolt, reveal, acceptance, violence, violence, denial, acceptance, love, love, reveal, fin.

I enjoyed watching No Reservations (2007) with Saa, even if it was a movie she had already watched. It’s funny how much we identify ourselves with the work we do. It’s going to be interesting to see how all this evolves in the age of AI.

  • DTDC and perishables

We sent some of our friends some bakes and they all arrived pretty delayed in a broken state. I ended up going through DTDC’s terms in some detail to see what could be done to cut losses, but it looks like there’s not scope for much. I guess we’ll simply avoid using them in future, at least for shipping food.

  • Workouts

Got in 4 days, this week! And worked on improving my deadlifts based on the feedback last week. Got more feedback on squats and parallel bar dips to work on, though. :) Bracing my core well enough seems like the general underlying problem across all the feedback.

Also managed to attend one session of Ultimate. We played against GK Psychos and they showed us everything we need to work on, as a team.

  • Work

Got a long standing PR of mine on ocaml/dune finally merged. It’s a big relief that I can now move onto other bits of work.

Feel free to send me an email with your comments.
